Separate standards for urban and rural areas
When deciding how many ration shops to open, the government has established precise guidelines. The ratio is roughly one shop for every 1900 ration cards in rural areas and one shop for every 1350 ration cards in urban areas. This will guarantee that beneficiaries have easy access to their rations and that no establishment is overworked.
More opportunities in Patna and other districts
In terms of districts, Patna district has been granted permission to open the largest number of new ration stores roughly 435. Additionally, other positions are being advertised in other significant districts. While the application process is still ongoing in several districts, all positions have already been filled in others.
Emphasis on the selection process and verification
The district administration will be in charge of choosing ration dealers, and the procedure will be carried out in accordance with the District Supply Office’s regulations. The ration card verification campaign has also been stepped up to ensure openness. From December 17 to December 30, a special campaign will be held to guarantee 100% Aadhaar seeding, hence avoiding fraudulent cards and inconsistencies.
